1. Preparation: Clean the substrate and check the tape condition.
Before use, ensure the cardboard box or packaging surface is dry and free of oil to avoid affecting adhesion strength.
Check the tape roll for integrity and undamagedness; replace it immediately if wrinkles or peeling adhesive are found.
2. Select the appropriate slitting width and tension.
Choose standard widths such as 45mm, 48mm, or 50mm according to packaging needs to ensure sufficient coverage without material waste.
When using an automatic slitting machine or manual slitting knife, maintain even tension to prevent excessive stretching of the tape on the roll, which can lead to decreased adhesion later.
3. Correct application method.
Smoothly apply the Bopp tape jumbo roll to the carton seal. Press lightly once to remove air bubbles, then apply even pressure along the tape direction using a roller or your fingers to ensure complete contact between the adhesive surfaces.
For packaging requiring double sealing, a "cross-overlapping" method can be used, where the first layer is applied longitudinally and the second layer is applied transversely to enhance overall tensile strength.
4. Post-Sealing Inspection and Storage
After sealing the box, check that the seal is intact and secure. If necessary, an additional layer of transparent waterproof film can be added on top of the tape to improve moisture resistance.
Remaining rolls of tape should be immediately stored in a moisture-proof warehouse to avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures or humidity, which could lead to a decrease in adhesive strength during subsequent use.
